If you are anything like us, you are walking a lot more than usual lately. Make your next walk, run or bike outing a little more meaningful, and join the VAO in Pets 2 the Rescue.
During this time of economic stress, shelter donations are down and shelter fundraisers have been cancelled, but the needs of the homeless dogs and cats in our care are greater than ever. Pets 2 the Rescue is a 1-mile and 5K virtual run/walk/bike event to raise funds for the Voorhees Animal Orphanage and other non-profit animal shelters and pet adoption agencies across the US.
Register between now and the end of May for just $10 and 100% of your registration fee goes to the VAO. You can make an even greater impact by making an additional donation as you register. You can also purchase Pets 2 the Rescue merchandise (t-shirts, polo shirts, hoodies, embroidered hats, mugs, etc) from the Pets 2 the Rescue ETSY store to help.
How does it work? 3 easy steps:
- Register for the virtual 1 mile or virtual 5K any time between May 1 – May 31. To register, go to https://pets2therescue.org/ Click “register” then choose the “Northeast Region” and be sure to select the Voorhees Animal Orphanage and 100% of your $10 registration fee will come to us. That’s right, 100%. (You can also choose to make an additional donation as your register.)
- Walk or Run your distance (with your pet if you would like) by June 1. Please be sure to observe Social Distancing guidelines.
- Submit your Time online either using the free mobile app or manually in the online race results.
Bonus: Runners who submit their time by June 1 will be entered into a drawing for “door prizes”.
