Animal Shelter

Voorhees Animal Orphanage (VAO) is the community shelter serving 25 towns in Southern New Jersey.

VAO serves the following 21 Camden County municipalities: Audubon, Berlin Borough, Berlin Township, Cherry Hill, Chesilhurst, Collingswood, Gibbsboro, Gloucester City, Haddonfield, Haddon Heights, Laurel Springs, Lawnside, Magnolia, Merchantville, Mt. Ephraim, Runnemede, Somerdale, Stratford, Voorhees, Waterford Twp and Woodlynne. That is more than half of Camden County!

We also serve 4 municipalities in Salem County: Alloway,  Elmer, Elsinboro and Woodstown.

As such, we are the destination for animals collected by animal control or surrendered by residents from any of these 25 southern NJ towns. If you have lost or found a companion animal in one of these towns, we are the place to call!
