- “Open intake” means we take in stray and unwanted animals from the municipalities that we serve regardless of breed, age, or medical status

Medical Fund:
Nearly half of the animals who come through our doors each year require some form of medical attention, ranging from basic vaccinations to extremely complex surgeries.
The VAO Medical Fund is what makes these treatments possible. Medical expenses are one of our largest financial burdens. You can help lessen that burden by supporting the Medical Fund. Make a difference in the lives of animals who might not have had the same chance at another shelter.
